It's alright.

Michael-Flaherty responds:

Totally

Hey man, I love the song a lot. Btw, like the reviewer two below me, that ending was too long lol. I was expecting the same thing. It'd be sick if it jumped back in on the beat to end the song.

eimad-zamrik responds:

Thanks for liking it man!

Yea sorry man haha, but this gives me idea to create an extended version for you guys!

Thanks for enjoying bro!

Wow :O

This is an awesome piece of music. It starts out a little iffy, and I wasn't sure where you would go with it, but the end result was fantastic. All three movements are great, and really capture the mood of the scenes you wrote in the description.

I'm having a hard time choosing whether I like the second or third movements better, but I think I'm probably gonna go with the third, although the piano solo was incredible as well.

Only thing is, and you probably already know this, the quality is a little iffy. Is this a recording, or...?

9/10 5/5

sinequanon responds:

thanks for the review, tho I'm not sure what you're referring to quality-wise, only the second mvnt is recorded (albeit with a cheap microphone). the first and third mvnts use a sound library whose weakest feature is the string samples, especially when very exposed.

Not What I was Expecting

Wow, this is so much more than I was expecting. God damn zero bombs tricked me.

I love how you mixed all the parts together at the end. I honestly can't think of anything to improve on. Although, if I remember correctly, I didn't really hear a bass drum (as in a drum-line bass drum) and I think that would've added even more to this piece. I love all the beats you put together for the snare.

You obviously have a very wide range of musical styles and if you literally recorded those piano parts, then kudos to you. You, sir, are one of the best composers I've seen on the recently added page of the classical section in a long time. Great job and keep up the originality! :)

Also, may I ask what programs you used to make this?

jdh504 responds:

Thanks so much for the review! Yeah it kinda sucks putting songs up that you work hard on then seeing them just get rated zero when nobody even had time to listen to them, but it is what it is lol. About the bass drum, yeah for all the percussion I used this one kit that had a combination of percussion instruments kind of set up like a regular drum one would be, and sadly it seems the kit doesn't really have too much of a prominent bass drum, I definitely would've liked to use a drum-line one though, that's definitely a good idea! Yeah I recorded all the instruments in the song with my piano, for this one I used garageband with the orchestra symphony(or whatever it's called lol) jam pack, and I had to have separate tracks because of the tempo changes though, so once I finished I just mixed them together with Audacity. But yeah, I really appreciate the review, it really does mean a lot to me! I'm glad you enjoyed the piece, it's one of my favorites! :D

Nice job.

So, let's get started. I liked the piece, overall, btw.

1. Just a matter of personal opinion, but this piece needs some more development when it comes to the melody. I like it, but it just seems a little... empty? I guess that's the right word.

2. I like the build-up the rhythm gets.

3. Maybe it should be a bit longer, 1:21 seems a little short. That would give you some extra time to add some more development into it.

4. I love the relaxing quality to it.

So yeah, those are the 4 things I thought I'd let you know. Yeah, I know, I'm not the greatest music critic :P. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to seeing the newest version of this song. :)

Slaytesics responds:

Why thanks, and I will absolutely work on it more, want to make it have more buildup

I like it

Nice and relaxing. The two musical parts really flow together. Can I ask what instruments you used? Not much to go into, so...

4/5 (I gave you a 5/5 b/c of all the zero-bombs).

Usernamemyarse responds:

Its a preset from Native Instruments "Massive" Vst.
Thanks for the review and score :D

Amazing

I've just heard your music today (after I heard "Fantasy Four Strings" I just had to hear the rest of your music), and you're an amazing composer. As an aspiring composer myself, I'd just like to say good luck in your field of work. You've got an insane amount of talent.

Now, onto this piece, it does a really nice job telling the story. When I read the story and then listened to it along with it, it really gave me the exact picture that you'd written down.

I'd hate to be a 16 year old giving you a critique, but maybe a quiet opening with just the main piano line fading in would sound nice even if it's a little generic? It just seems like it would fit with the fade out at the end. To be honest, it's nothing major. It sounds great both ways. It's hard to find a flaw in a piece like this.

corbetweller responds:

I appreciate the critique and I can see your rational on the fade in introduction. I was a little skeptical of putting the fade out, but I thought it made it sound less like a loop. The piece is essentially a loop but I didn't feel like it fit into the loop category. Thanks for the review and keep up the composing!

Same

Again with the no offense, but it's the same thing, except with the chord being repeated by different instruments (and off beat at that). What I meant by melody is actually add some variation instead of the generic:

Bum-bumbum-bum-bum-bumbum-bum

Don't rush this kind of thing. Finish the song, and then post it. You'll get a more positive response that way.

doppler73 responds:

GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!

Time for V3......

Umm...

No offense man, but it wasn't that great. It was just chords, there wasn't even a melody. Not even that, but it was only Is IVs and Vs. You should add in a melody at least.

This would be something people would use as a basis, but this doesn't constitute a song.

4/10 for at least knowing basic music theory.

doppler73 responds:

Can you check out my other version?!?
